New PSP, "NGP", Revealed!

Sony Revealing Next Generation Portable

I guess that means it is the PSP2. Only question now, is what it looks like. I think Sony chose the right time to reveal this new portable. The Nintendo 3DS smoke seems to have cleared a little. I guess by making this announcement so soon means that they are going to blow Nintendo and Apple out the water? Maybe we'll just see alot of previews for future games at E3. I only expect to see a few in the next couple of hours. Maybe like three major titles. Since they are announcing the PSP2, why not go ahead and announce that Final Fantasy VII remake! Here's the supposed look of the handheld:

I doubt that's the actual look, being that the Playstation Phone previewed by Engadget has the same look.

Malicious Update 1.01 Available

The 1.01 update is available for download. I just downloaded it and the game seems to run alot smoother. The controls are MUCH better too!

Duke Nukem! YAY!! Invaders Must Die by The Prodigy.......I think I've seriously heard this song way too many times. Please everyone find something new! There's other music out there that can give us the same, if not better, adrenaline rush.

Bleach: Soul Ignition Characters Revealed?!

"des", who is a huge contributer to all things imports, might have uncovered all the playable characters in the upcoming Bleach: Soul Ignition. While searching through the demo's "soul", des found over 650 entries that included loading screens, cutscenes, stages, and even models. But most importantly he found the possibility of 21 playable characters.

And most important to me, is the fact that Grimmjow and Ulquiorra are on the list of playable characters! Overall, it's great news for Bleach fans. At first, it seemed like only a handful of characters would be playable but I guess not. I had second thoughts about importing when I played the demo and then thought how limiting the game would be with a few characters and that hack n' slash gameplay. More characters and hopefully more gameplay styles based on the chracters fighting abilities shouldn't condemn this game to just a button masher.

Dissidia 012[duodecim] Demo Available

Only on the Japanese Playstation Network though and for a price. The demo is called Dissidia Duodecim Prologus Final Fantasy. For ¥300, you'll be able to play Story Mode or Arcade mode. The story mode is a short scenario that ties to the main story. Arcade mode is just a regular battle against the CPU. Keeping the save data on the PSP will unlock Aeris as an assist character in the final game!

Kingdom Hearts 3D Officially Revealed

The Kingdom Hearts game on the Nintendo 3DS finally has an actual title: Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Now we know what they meant by "3D". Looks like Kingdom Hearts 1 all over again. Then again, this story is supposed to lead into Kingdom Hearts 3. I hope this is the last back, side, under, or inside story from a Kingdom Hearts game! The official site is also up. Famitsu reports that one of the new worlds is The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII Gets A Name Change

While not worst than God Eater being changed to Gods Eater [I blame you simple-minded Americans!] in America, Final Fantasy Agito XIII will now be known as Final Fantasy Type-0. The game now has nothing to do with anything "XIII". Not even Organization XIII. Sorry Xemnas...Also trademarked are Type-1, 2, and 3. My guess is that these games will be similar to the Tactics series, only difference being is that Type-0 is action-oriented. Type-0 will be on two UMDs and is expecting a 2011 release in Japan.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Is A Direct Sequel

Of all things, Square Enix, why would you make a sequel to this game. I enjoyed the first game unlike most people put I think this is pushing it a little. Square needs to focus on big titles we're expecting like Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. You're killing our friendship Square! XIII-2 is going to be a direct sequel and it's being released on the PS3 and Xbox 360. I don't know what to expect anymore. I'm guessing Lightning will have a musical career and trade her guns for a staff. Garment Grid, dresspheres, etc. Make sure to get a 100% on the story too so we can get the real ending that brings back characters who you thought died in the first title! XIII-2 is planned for release this year in Japan.

Malicious Finally Getting the Update It Deserves

I played through Malicious a couple of times making it to the last boss every time only to be crushed miserably and sent back to start all over. But finally, being crushed won't be so bad or either I won't be crushed at all. On January 25, Malicious is getting a huge update that includes, Easy Mode, which is good if you want to have fun while completing the game, not fun if you like to collect trophies. You also can't unlock extra modes for completing the game for playing in Easy Mode.

The best part about the update though has to be the button assignments and the camera. You can now choose the "Full Button" option which divides moves that were assigned to the same button. The camera speed and Auto-Target can also be changed as well. Last but not least, the camera movement has been adjusted to make it so that you don't lose sight of your character when you've targeted a large enemy. I guess it's time to dust off this downloadable title and give it another go!

More Perverted Antics on the Kinect: Hatsune Miku Style

Hatsune Miku is probably the most well known victim of the Kinect lately. I wouldn't have used the term victim until this video came out. I knew someone would eventually make this type of "connection" with her.



I know many are excited by this but I'm definitely not. :/ MikuMiku Dance + Kinect on the other hand amuses me though!

New Catherine Trailer

I've been playing alot of Castlevania HD and this game reminds me of it. Both are puzzle-like games, but Catherine definitely has more gore and sex appeal. Early purchasers of Catherine will get a "sound disc" and artbook. Hopefully that same bonus will carry over to the states.

They brought back Jordan, tweaked the gameplay, and had an awesome soundtrack. Visual Concepts delivers true sports games and cares about it's fans. Baseball is going to need some more work though.

I'm not going to lie. I'm not much of a PC gamer but I did a lot of PC gaming before the year ended. As of now I'm trying to shake my World of Warcraft addiction. I've played tons of MMOs and betas for upcoming PC games. I like strategy games but I've never been too big on real-time strategy. I recently downloaded the demo to Starcraft II and enjoyed it enough to purchase the full game. I need to go back and play the first so I can understand the story just a little more.

No Stopping EA

Those bastards at EA! Another beacon of hope to end this monopoly has failed. Last week a judge certified a class action lawsuit against Electronic Arts. The argument being made is that the company has overcharged (for roster updates) for the Madden franchise ever since signing the exclusive license deal with the NFL in 2005. The suit apparently has very little chance of being successful so I guess it's back to the bench to wait out the years left in this deal. A monopoly is a monopoly especially when I don't have an alternate choice for NFL football. EA is probably secretly funded by the government. And for all you Madden Curse fanatics, it may not seem like Drew Brees has been affected, but if you look at his stats from last year Drew Brees posted his highest QB rating in his career last year with a 109.6. Right now he's at a 92.2. I hope nothing crazy happens, but I do hope that the Falcons destroy the Saints if they meet up again in the playoffs!
