Epic FAIL. Zeta Squad Lives! [Update]

The epic release of Gears of War 3's epic "Raam's Shadow" DLC is having some epic technical issues for it's epic Season Pass owners. I (being one of them) am a little disappointed. As soon as you start the game, it prompts you to go download the epic new content as with previous DLC. Instead of it being free, it's 1200 MS points. Make sure you don't accidently download it! It's probably what Microsoft wants because we all like free money! and that's EPIC!!!! I will update if anything changes!

Catherine Demo Is Live!!!!

Download it ASAP!!! You have to have a Japanese Xbox Live account and it has to be a Gold account of course. If you don't know how to make one, I could assist or you could go here. If you have a Japanese account and it's Silver, you'll have to wait until February 3rd to download the demo. :(

More Perverted Antics on the Kinect: Hatsune Miku Style

Hatsune Miku is probably the most well known victim of the Kinect lately. I wouldn't have used the term victim until this video came out. I knew someone would eventually make this type of "connection" with her.

I know many are excited by this but I'm definitely not. :/ MikuMiku Dance + Kinect on the other hand amuses me though!

The True Potential of the Kinect

Microsoft has already blocked the release of games using the Kinect for anything sexual. Oh well. But speaking of Soul Calibur, the next game in the series is in development! I wonder what secret characters are going to grace the consoles this time around.

Xbox Fall Update

So finally the big fall update is available for EVERYONE.  This new update adds Kinect support, ESPN, updates to Zune and Netflix, and also other improved features for all 360 consoles. I've had the preview for awhile but I'm finally glad it's officially out. While in the preview, I had to update my 360 almost every single time I turned it on. Drove me insane! Also alot of the Avatar functions were disabled, (not that I cared for that) but one thing I've definitely been enjoying was the slick new interface and the edition of ESPN.

I just heard about DirecTV dropping G4 so could you give us that Microsoft? Probably not. But along with this update make sure you update your room for Kinect. Unlike this family, I damn sure don't have enough room to use it. Maybe I could buy download from space from the Marketplace.

Gears of War 3 Delayed

*sigh* This has to be the biggest delay that I was NOT expecting. Gears of War 3, which was supposed to be released April 8, 2011 (Seven days before my birthday T_T ), is now being pushed back another five months and now has a vague "Fall 2011" date. Why? I don't know because I'm pretty sure this game was well on it's way to completion. My guess is because of marketing. All the MAJOR Halo games and stories are completed and now Microsoft needs a new flagship title. Microsoft is probably pushing for a September release which was the same as Halo 3 and Halo: Reach. "Milk" titles as I call them. I might as well prepare for the onslaught of Gears of War chip bags and soda cans and bottles. Or it could be something else causing this delay that's been plaguing this series since Gears 1. GLITCHES.

New Xbox 360 Controller

So take a look at this. The new Xbox 360 controller that's already featured in box of a brand new Xbox 360 Slim. This new controller, being released November 9th with the new Play & Charge Kit, is expected to fix numerous issues that fellow Xbox 360 owners have complained about. One if it's new features is the "cool grey buttons" transforming D-pad that can go "from a plus to a disc with the twist of the wrist."

Major Nelson also shows these features in a video posted on Youtube below:

Doesn't look like too many people approve of this especially with comments like:

elmalhermano
The controller will only be available with the new Play & Charge Kit that will launch on November 9th for US $64.99
so instead of fixing the problem, they will capitalize on it, yep sure is microsoft here
Jar155
What's the point of the twist functionality? Like sometimes you want it to be a good d-pad and sometimes you want it to completely suck? Why would you ever choose to have it completely suck? Terrible idea.

SchnauzerVictim
WOW, not a bad idea with the d-pad, but way to fail with the colors. Almost every game that says "Press the 'A' Button to continue" (or something like that) shows a green A. Now some 5 year old is going to be like "WTF MATE, where is the green button?"

What the hell Microsoft. Why raise prices in out so-called struggling economy? The Major justifies this by saying:

Since launching Xbox LIVE in 2002 we have continually added more content and entertainment experiences for our members, while keeping the price the same. We’re confident that when the new pricing takes effect, an Xbox LIVE Gold membership will continue to offer the best value in the industry.

However, we do want to thank our loyal members and give you the opportunity to lock in your current price with an additional discount, so now would be a good time to renew your subscription.

Well said Major Nelson. I expect Microsoft to take care of us with this increase and offer gamers better if not more content. (I think we're covering their loses!) I take no sides in this "Console War" but this makes Sony's Playstation Plus service look like Christmas. At least you have a choice. Choice is good right?

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game News

Alot of people have been scrambling around trying to find codes for this game. The most recent discovery was that of the Boss Rush mode which we've seen in Game Trailers review. The code is right, right, O, R1, right, right, O, R1. If you know who discovered it let me know and I'll give cred. (Maybe even a points card for whichever console!). Also the 6th mysterious character that everyone thought was unlockable is DLC.....which is pretty neat! According to this picture from the dev's blog.

It's Knives Chau! (hopefully!) The developer also goes on to state:

"As far as I know, the sixth character will be a downloadable one and will only come out with the DVD release of the movie."

There's also the mention of extra game modes such as a Dodgeball and a Battle Royal. Maybe we'll find out more closer to the DVD release. Until then, read up on the dev's blog for more screens and random info on the game.

Halo: Reach - A Spartan Will Rise Trailer

When I first saw this game, I thought it was going to be another ODST. I haven't finished ODST because I became bored with it. I know I'll finish it before Reach comes out though. I played the beta for Reach and I was a little impressed with the class-based approach, but it wasn't enough to reel me in. I was about to ignore this game, but I couldn't fully do that until I "knew" what Reach was about. I read a couple stories and summaries online to see what Reach was really about and became really interested in the story. Not only will I definitely pick up the game, I think I'll read Halo: The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund as well.
